Jeanne's own experience receiving acupuncture treatment spans over 20 years and is the reason why she became an Acupuncturist.
She went to her first acupuncture treatment seeking help for a painful skin issue that she had for 5 years. Mainstream doctors told her that she would have the condition forever and that there was nothing that could be done except to use steroid cream. Although this option helped immensely, she knew that using steroidal treatment long-term would create more ill effects on her health.
Her neighbor at the time was receiving acupuncture to address her own health concerns and was receiving great benefit. She invited Jeanne to come with her to see her Acupuncturist.
The evening after Jeanne's first treatment, the painful symptoms that she had been experiencing for 5 years were gone. She stopped using the steroid cream and has had no need for it since.
Jeanne though this was magic and began receiving regular acupuncture treatments which supported her through all aspects of her life. That was over 20 years ago.
Jeanne is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Maryland and has recevied education in healing arts from Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health) in Laurel, Maryland. MUIH requires over 2,400 hours of combined clinical and classroom experience.
Jeanne is also a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA).
Jeanne received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Towson University and previously worked in the Adult Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview assisting her clients to return to the workforce.
She maintains a general practice addressing a wide range of issues including injury recovery and pain relief, digestion, headaches, emotional balance, sleep and women's health.
Jeanne also enjoys providing small group sessions in homes, workplaces and other community locations.
Jeanne's clients report physical and emotional relief as a result of treatment. She often recommends easily implemented practices to help clients to optimize their benefits of treatments, and she encourages their exploration of other modalities that may also help them to feel their best.
Jeanne likes to create an environment and treatment where her clients feel relaxed enough to reconnect with who they are and what they truly want for their lives - knowing that the connection between the mind and body makes all things possible.
And what Jeanne really loves are books, nature, painting, delicious food, wonderful conversations, and all her favorite animal friends.
